About Dene

foodOriginally from New Zealand, Dene has been living in Dublin for seven years. Dene has been running a successful private practice in Dun Laoghaire since qualifying in Neuromuscular Therapy and Orthopaedic Sports Massage in 2004. He constantly updates his skills by doing workshops, seminars and further courses – most recently a second qualification in Dry Needling techniques.

Dene worked for a year with Kilmacud Crokes GAA senior football team and then for 4 seasons with Lansdowne Rugby Club. With the rugby team, he provides pre-event massage on match days, sports massage at practice sessions, and treats the players individually at his clinic. As part of a medical team they see a large variety of injuries from when they happen, through rehabilitation, through to complete recovery.

Having done a lot of work on physcially big semi-professional rugby players, Dene has built up his strength, something essential for him to perform Deep Tissue Massage. He also likes to keep in shape for a physically demanding job by running and cycling. For over ten years since starting in his early twenties Dene has been practicing yoga. Most treatment sessions end with some rehabilitation exercises and stretching. Some of these techniques are influenced by his yoga background.

"I like working with sports people but the aspect of the job I most enjoy is using Neuromuscular therapy to help people who suffer from chronic pain. My ability to locate and deactivate Trigger points means I can relieve pain and improve people's quality of life."

Dene is located in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. Call for an appointment today on 087 133 2405.
