Common successfully treated conditions

Sciatiaca (piriformis syndrome)

Deep tissue massage into the hip releases the piriformis muscle to relieve symptoms that mimic sciatic-like pain. (Pain that radiates down the leg).  Dene is an expert at locating knots and trigger points deep in the hip, having built up his strength and technique working on big rugby players.

Tension headaches

Tension headaches are often caused by tight neck muscles. The trapezius muscle is a common culprit. The good news is that deep tissue massage and dry needling show great results in the elimination of headaches and improvements in posture.

Knee pain & IT band issues

Knee pain is very often caused by a tight IT band. While foam rolling is somewhat effective, deep tissue massage and dry needling prove to be an even better solution. Weak quads and misalignment are also culprits that Dene has a lot of experience with.

Neck & shoulders

Most of Dene’s customers are seeking treatment for Neck and Shoulder pain. Much of this pain is caused by Trigger points. Dene is  a specialist in trigger point therapy of the upper trapezius (main muscle running from the neck down the back).

... and everything else

If it has to do with muscles and trigger points, there is a good chance Dene can help you. After assessing your individual needs, Dene can take the course of action that will help you the most.

Richard Cotter

After numerous kiteboarding accidents over the last 10 years, I was left with severe pain in my shoulder and neck. I had given up ever being out of pain after visiting countless Physio’s, chiropractors and osteopaths. Even after the first session I noticed more manoeuvrability in my neck and a considerable reduction in pain. Can’t recommend Dene enough.

Rowan Casey, surgeon

“I had been experiencing pain on the left side of my neck for years especially when doing keyhole surgery for long periods.

I assume this was related to a previous injury which never quite healed. No amount of stretches or manipulation would ease the pain. I had not ever realised that my range of motion was reduced at my neck.

At the third session with Dene a combination of manipulation and neuromuscular trigger point needling suddenly relieved this chronic ache and tightness on the left side. I have a new range of motion on the opposite side which I haven’t had for years and the pains on the left side are much improved. Hopefully I should get further improvements with more sessions.”

Greg Malloca, music producer

“I was suffering with severe lower back pain for about 9 months. I went to a chiropractor for about 2 months and this did nothing for me. I got a recommendation of Dene from a friend so i decided to go to him. After 3 sessions my back was probably 80% better with little to no pain. He used a combination of deep tissue massage and needles. After 5 sessions in total my back was feeling normal again. He is a true professional – he could identify the painful areas just by touch. He also gave me exercises to practise each day which help to keep this injury at bay. I would highly recommend Dene for any sports injury”.

Ciaran Casey

“After nine physios and three consultants Dene has given me more pain relief and movement than the others combined. Hugely competent and a really nice guy.”
